What do you think of your Aussie/Loc Rites up front? I have always put a locker up front in a part time rig but this is my first full time. i was wondering about driving characteristics on road and off road with/without center diff locked. I like the selectability of the factory yota and ARB but I dont like the prices, since I can get front and rear for the same price as one ARB.

Thats was what I was figuring, but had seen a lot of guys running both on here. I am truly wanting to do your 4spd conversion, but cant talk myself into doing a swap on a drivetrain that is working for me. I hate driving an automatic with a passion.

Haha. I love the truck it fits a big need to be able to haul 5 of us around comfortably on or off road, I just don't like automatics in general. I still have my old straight six 4 spd manual ford if I need to get my stick shift fix.

no full time locker in front with full time fwd.... maybe an ARB or other controllable locker but not a mechanical version that's "on" all the time.

I have assie locker in front (now) in my truck and its part time fwd. No way would I put a full time locker in the front with a truck that is full time fwd...unless a 100% offroad trailer queen truck. You will have big time steering issues.

I have an Aussie up front (as well as back) and still Fulltime... but it's not my DD and it's not safe at all for it. It does fine until you let off the pedal, then it pulls, hard! or vice versa.
I flat tow like this but it does fine when there is no torque on the drive train... that goes for even driving it, if you were to be coasting then you'd never know it was there.
Don't do it to a DD
