I've installed an early t-case onto a 4speed transmission. Adapter kit installed, new drive shafts on the way, I was only a little surprised when the 3speed lever didn't fit. They look almost exactly alike but nope. Anyone out there have one? I need it soon. Hoping to crank the truck this weekend. Shafts will be done next week. I'd like to have it complete next week.

Looks like this only for a 4speed.

Turns out, I also need this linkage. The one on the left. The 4spd link is black, the 3spd link is yellow zinc. The 4spd sample is from the '74 I'm also building so I can't steal that one.

The shifter is the same (at least according to SOR). It is the TC plate that attaches to the transmission that is different. You need the '73-'75 shifter plate. And yes, you will need the '73-75 linkage that you mentioned above.

The shifter is not the same. It just looks like it. I have '74 parked right beside it. No body on it so comparing is very easy. The round knob at the bottom is moved down and inward on the 4 speed.

Georg has them. I'll change the post to SOLD when the deal is made.

@Rainman -

Can you please post back if using the 4 speed lever works? I was told by other Mud members that I needed the ‘73-75 setup. I have a ‘70 like you and put in a 4 speed tranny with a 3 speed TC. That set-up includes a 3 speed TC lever. Mine mates up but is not a perfect fit. I figured it was the nature of the beast in mixing and matching.

Will do.
