Just thought I'd do a small writeup on the slow improvements done to the 4Runner, otherwise known as the Barbarian, the Angry Ass, or the Mexican blanket. I just washed it too so I better post pictures while it still looks as clean as it does! Sorry about the huge pictures, I don't know how to resize them. Huge, huge thanks to Nat for all the help, tools and parts.

First and foremost:

33" 10.5" R15 buckshot mudder tires, a big improvement from the 31" BFG bald-terrains I had on there before!

Rough country shocks, moved the mount up for better clearance and travel. I've got a solid 11" from the ground to the rear diff now, 16" from the ground to the transfer case skidplate, also beefed out...

Front skid as well.

Some interior improvements also, trying to make up for the fact that it's not an sr5 :(

Tachometer!

Map lights! I can't believe my truck didn't come with these in the first place, oh well.

We're also doing a bumper build with a couple smittybuilts I picked up from a friend of mine. They were originally on a cherokee so we had to fab our own mounts. What you see here is definitely not the final mount, it's just tossed on there for now with a few welds. Next we gotta hack the ends a couple inches cause they're sticking out the sides about 2.5" and weld on some end caps, don't wanna catch any trees. Front one is coming soon.

All in all some decent steps up since FG. Next on the list is a lockrite for the rear I've got coming in the next week or so, then ball joint spacers, lowering the t-bars, then taking apart the leafs and removing the enormous extra load leaf that's making the ride stiff as a board, plus longer shackles. Saving up eventually for some rock sliders.

sweet dude reminds me of my old setup;) that 4runner has come along way i love when you $ it the front shocks had NO bushings fun times. Thank god we finely go a rear bumper on that thing, swing buy some and we can fish plate those welds and bolt that bumper up with some tech screws...ahhh i mean grade 8 bolts:D

kyle the easy way to resize pic's is put them on face book and then from face book save them to your hard drive (face book will resize them perfect for mud)

Nice rock anchor! that thing will work sweet at slowing forward progress when you wheel it in the spring!
Dude seriously, you need to call me when you want to build something for the truck... I have everything you need for sliders... and a decent rear bumper... That bumper esque thing is flat out hidious.

I was actually hoping to get a real anchor for it and drop it off the pier in welfleet........ no.

Yeah we tossed it on there and went "sweet" then I think we both realized how not sweet it is. I got pulled over in Eastham for "not having mud flaps" so this will at least buy me some time to not get a ticket while we build a better one. I'll give you a ring next time I have a day to kill on the Cape, I've been meaning to take a breather from Boston for a while now.

So are you adding a sunroof???

now that is funny.

I dig those runners. looks good. Much nicer than my old (several years ago) POS with a free trailmaster IFS lift and tires and wheels stolen off my 40.

want to talk about hideous...

It was primer black with bushwacker cutouts soon after this pic. 250K on the orig. 3.0 liter when I sold it. Go figure

I'm planning on it this summer! I might be picking up some SR5 seats today actually, I'd like to find a cloth headliner, and there's an SR5 gauge cluster that I call dibs on at a junkyard on the cape. Inclinometers would be sick too...
