I last Saturday the current tires: 33x12.50 with 4" Skyjacker springs ..rubbing like crazy when i was on the trails.. the tires are 31'' tall (they are not new)

I plan to use the FJC stteels rims with Swampers 34x10.50x17 LTB. I need longer shackles for rear and front..have already longer brakes lines. For be honest im was looking on Man A Fre web site and others places,,,but i dont know how long i would need in inches between pin to pin..:frown: and i will prefer the anti-inversion model shackles for both..so WHO can send me a link for go straight to my issue..thanks..in advance.

nice 40...but did you plan to use lift kit ?... when i start using the LTb with those massive lugs..will tear the edges of the tire if i don't change the shackles for longer ones...or maybe 1'' body lift after the shackles will help also.

Hi All:

IMHO either taller lift springs or a one-inch body lift. Don't go with longer shackles - that is a crude way to go.

On my rig running mild-lift SUA springs I have trimmed-out the fenders for clearance and mounted wheel spacers in the rear to prevent tire rub on body sheetmetal.

Regards,

Alan

Thanks for the reply's..the 40 have already wheels spacers ( 1 1/4 wide) and i need it for the 17 '' rim FJ steelies.. but not plan to do soa and dont have money for taller springs more than 4'' . So anyone point on anti-inversion shackels, longer than the one showing in the pictures?? body lift will be the last resource.

just remember for every inch of lift you will need two inch longer shackles..... so you need lets say two inches of lift to not rub or rub less your talking 4" longer shackles. There isnt anything wrong with slightly longer shackles infact you could argue some advantages when you are flexing but......

This is what you would end up with assuming you are not shackle reversal:

4x, are you sure about that? 1"lift=2"in shackles???
that would mean a 4"lift would require 8" shackles...doubt it

I made my own shackles up & they are about 7" between bolt centres.
Car is SUA 4" springs & 2" body lift
I run 35's without them rubbing on the guards but they do foul on the standard steering
arm when turning to the right with some compression on the front right wheel. but a 60 series conversion will fix that.

Looks to me like you are not running any frame bump stop. If not you should. When you are in full flex what kind of space you have between the frame and axle?

He is correct.

Has standard bump stop plus a 3.5" extension fitted between chassis & stop.
Here is a pic of the rear without the extension in place.
Was measuring distance needed to make the extesions.

yeah front is the same I just don't have a pic to post up. It's in the shed at the moment with the engine & trans out getting rebuilt.

Then he needs longer one,

Longer shackle will not be much appreciated, why not go SOA?
