I gave up on BFG's and went to Toyo. Never could keep the BFG MT's balanced.

Toyo tires with balancing beads ride round and balanced.

I will not go back to fixed lead weights.

285 75 17, a 34" tire, running at 40 psi.

I had my 285/75/16s balanced at discount with no problems. Km3s. Might be worth giving them a try

Have a look at the weight placement. If you see weights on opposite sides of the rim the guy doing the balance was an idiot.

Also, Toyota has a "Precision Wheel Balance Adapter" they recommend for FJC's. It is LUG CENTRIC, and doesn't use a cone. Why? Because most balancers can't hold the rim perpendicular so the rim shifts and misleads the machine and leads to excessive weight being placed on the rim, in the wrong places.

Man, never ever heard of that adapter until now. Just an update. I did go ahead and order 255/85/16 st maxx. Going skinny. They will be on this week. I will report back after install with initial road performance and after valentines weekend with off-road performance.
