im am about to buy tires but i need the mesurments for a 33inch tire for the stock rim on a 95 fzj any help??

305/70/16 is about 33inch depending on the make

You can calculate the size and it will help you out.

example....

305/70/16

305mm wide/213.5mm sidewall(70 stands for 70% of the first measurement)/R16 (16 inch rim)

so to convert to inches you divide millimeters by 25.4 (mm/in) = 12.007 in

213.55mm / 25.4 mm/in = 8.4 in

8.4 in x 2 = 16.8 in (x2 because there is a top and bottom to the tire)

16.8 in + 16 (rim size) = 32.8 inches

so your 305/70/16 is a 32.8/12/16

hope this helps in sizing your tires in the future.

Yep, I was just about to post the same explanation of what tire sizes mean.:clap:

I love this forum. So many people smarter than I.

So both the tires mentioned above, mine and retrofive are about 32.8"

For some reason I recalled the 305 being wider, the 3rd option around that height is the 255/85/16 tall skinny) anyway tons and tons of tires threads here.

It also depends on manufacturer, as the same metric size may be different outer diameters. Case in point, BFG 285/75/16s are slightly larger than Cooper 285/75/16s. If you are at the tire store, ask them what the outer diameter is for the particular tire you are looking at.

^ This too! My 35's are more like a tall 33"
