Just bought a 2004 V8 4Runner, hope to use it as a winter vehicle and to tow my FJ40 to wheeling events. Gonna need tires soon and I have been thinking about BFG all terrains, size is 265/65-17. Tire dealer tells me these are 10 ply tires- has anyone run these on a 4Runner? Are they real noisy? Anyone have any other recommendations or comments? Will appreciate any input before I plunk down my cash for new tires. Thanks, Shmukster

Duratracs, available in 6 and 10 ply, severe winter rated. Check them out.

Bridgestone Revo--much better tire all around.

Settled on a set of BFG All-Terrains, paying $243 per tire mounted and balanced. I have always liked these and think they'll be the best all around choice for me. Drove a newer Tundra with these tires and also another 2004 4Runner and they are relatively quiet. Hope I like 'em! Thanks for all your input. Shmukster

Put a set of Micheline AT's on my 02 Runner and they are wearing well and are very quiet...$$$

I hope the BFG A/T's work out for you.
I ran as et a while back...fairly quiet and good traction when newer but man did the set I had cup quickly and wore quickly as well.
I see local folks run these things right down to nothing for tread but I am sort of a 6/32 nds is time to buy new rubber and my set wore very quickly. I ran a fair amount of gravel and I have heard they last longer on pavement
Good luck...
