I am looking at an FJ80 on the west coast, while I live in Indiana. I'm considering driving it home - maybe making an adventure out of it by hitting Yellowstone and the Black Hills "on the way". It does need tires. My question is this - do the large chains honor "lifetime balance and rotation" at any store or are these franchisee's who do this to get your business? Over the life of tires it adds up...

Bought my MT/R's from Goodyear "Gemini" I get mine balanced and rotated every 3K miles. I've had this done in NJ, MA, GA, OH, IN, and TX.

The larger reputable chains are probably not going to lie to you especially when many of us are spending over $1K to buy a set of tires.

Good luck.

Best person to ask would be one of the chains, but likely it's a national warranty that's honored at any franchise. Why not make it a straight flush and stop at Tire Rack in Indiana on your way home to get the ripping savings minus the shipping charges. I did this once.
