I recently bought a set of Yokohamas that I'm not thrilled with. Still, they're not all that bad. I got them at Big O since they are close and the price was pretty good.

I just noticed today that 2 of the tires were made in Thailand, while 2 were made in Japan. In my mind, that makes not a matched set since no matter what the spec sheet says, I'm sure the factory in one place is producing slightly different tires than the other.

Think I have any case towards returning them based on this? Wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking. I highly doubt that is the source of your displeasure with the tires...

Wishful thinking indeed. You can try to return them, but I wouldn't expect to be met with much compassion from the tire shop if you do.
