I run 34" jungle trekkers on my middy (mud runs only), and as mentioned here, they are a fantastic tyre.
They do have a very strong carcass and therefore I find them superb at soaking up potholes that I really should have slowed down for
However for rock crawling, some rigs may have issues with them as the stiff structure means airing down may not always give the desired bag out.
I would normally run my MTRs or BFGs at around 22PSI for normal offroad, however to get any bag from the JTs, I have to drop down to around 14-15PSI, and without beadlocks that could run a greater risk of rolling the tyre off.
You may also want to look at a copy of the tyre by a company called Silverstone. They do one that is almost identical in appearance, but should be a little cheaper. Its also used in many serious mud (Rainforest Challenge) events.
Road wise they aren't brilliant. I keep to around 80kms on mine and aside from the noise, they are generally well behaved. Not sure what they would be like on wet tar road, but i don't think they'd be the safest thing out there.
