Tire Pressure Warning Light ON!

My parents have a 200 series that they just got. The TPMS light is stuck on and won't go away.

They checked the spare and it is fine.

They tried clearing it by holding the button with the ignition off and the key turned to accessory.

The only thing was that it was missing a valve stem cap, but they put another one on.

At this point it looks like they are going to have to take it to the dealership to have it cleared unless someone has a trick.

I have never had that problem with my 10k on my 200....dealership sounds like the right idea!

LOL, yes. The light came on about 100miles from the dealership. They bought it in Oregon and drove it back to CA.

and by hold the button you mean the one at the bottom of the dash down by their feet not up on the steering wheel, yes.

just checking the obvious.

Yes, he was pressing and holding the one down by the feet. He never could get it to flash three times like it's supposed to.

They got it fixed. Apparently the rear tire wasn't "registered" with the system. I think that is what my mom was told. Anyways, they got it all fixed.

I agree. My wife's Tacoma has that system and it's a pain when you air down for the dunes. Even if you hit the reset, the light will come back on due to the spare still being aired up.

I don't think they have had any more problems with it, and they are really enjoying it.

I got to drive it a little bit, and it made me jealous.

Sounds like a fairly fancy "parts truck" to have that them there option...

I drove our parts truck all winter with that light flashing. You get used to it after a while

Fancy enough for you? The dealership has a pair of these all stickered up like Nascar trucks. They slide around corners quite nicely in the winter

This is not a feature, unfortunately, on my new '09 VXR Gulf Spec. I think it is a LX only item in the Gulf. Just wondering, can you possibly reset this from the Diagnostic Mode in the Nav screen? I haven't tried to reset any codes, but there is an option to do so there. Maybe someone can try and post the result.

Are you talking about the tire pressure warning system? The reset button is under the drivers dash to the left.....stick your head under there and you cannot miss it.

Not sure if it is direct or delta, but it does tell you the reading for all 5 tires, just doesn't tell you which tire is which. With a little experimenting, I was able to figure out which tire was which on the little display screen, only to forget the sequence with the last rotation I did. Oh well...as long as they are all reading ok.

Cool, thanks for posting. It's nice that the display gives you the actual value for each of the tires; the older TPMS alarmed when a certain delta amongst the tire pressures was exceeded. I really like the TPMS systems used by Porsche and Chevy that give you the pressure for each tire on a layout.

It gives you the exact value, but not which tire. So if one tire is a bit low, there is no way to specifically tell which tire is low (unless you follow Chimy's method).
