Hey all,
Just a heads up for those price conscious LC people like myself. http://www.treadwright.com makes great tires at a silly good price point in a variety of sizes and tread designs. Worth looking into if you're in the market for some new tires.

Those look good, I would advise that it's a remold and prob only use off road. Last thing I want is a carcass coming off at 80mph with a loaded 100.
But for trail use on a secondary set or wheels I say: Go For It

I have never trusted retreads, tires are your only contact with the road, I would rather save money on something else

Plenty of reviews out on MUD and the interwebz regarding these. For the most part they seem to get decent reviews however they do have their failures (more than normal tires) with a few catastrophic failures that resulted in totaled vehicles or near total. Tread lightly with these as your results can vary drastically it seems.

I've been running Treadwrights for a few years, on and off road without issues. They are great in my limited experience. I probably have about 10k miles on mine between towing, driving and wheeling. They're still in fine balance and the tread is not all torn up despite wheeling Rubicon and places like that.

I drove my rig 500 miles for the Lakes Basin trip with a whole day of wheeling and sh*t-ton of 70mph freeway. :meh:

The reason you see parts of truck tires on the freeway is the heavy loads, high temps and multiple hundred thousands of miles of use. Retreads can easily handle the light loads of a passenger vehicle without coming apart, and even if the tread were to separate, that does not automatically mean you're going to have a blowout.

I used to be a supporter, but never more. They don't stand by their warranty. A tire came apart and destroyed the side of my truck and they wouldn't even warranty the tire. It was well within the warranty period. Horrible customer service. I saved a few hundred dollars and it cost me $3000.

I have had 5 or 6 pair on different trucks and van. Have the 285/75/16 Guard dog on the wifes lx450. 3 of the 4 balanced out very well. The 4th took some weight. They ride well and have a slight hum to them. Over all happy for the price.
Have a set on my 3/4 ton work van. No issues even at 85mph.
Never had one blow, come apart, or any other issue.
They have me sold for life.
