Fellow Mudheads,

Anybody running Grabber MT's from General Tire? I came across a full set on Craigslist and wonder if they are worth it. They are 33" x 12.5" R15. He's asking $300 for the set. Currently I have some AT 31x10.5's on the stock rims. I'm SUA, with OME Dakkar springs, anti inversion shackles, and the MAF U-Bolt Flip Kit.

Thanks!

I have a friend that runs them on his J**P and they work fine. He has run them on the Rubicon, Dusty Ershim, and flogged them pretty hard with no problem. They are incredibly loud, louder that almost any other mud tire that I have heard with the exception of a bogger.
Not sure what they are worth but it doesnt sound like a bad deal.

Maybe it's the water creating an optical illusion, but those don't look to have $300-worth of tread on them in that picture. Especially the third one down looks like it's badly worn on one side.

Like I said, maybe it's the water though.

I've only seen a couple people running them, and they seem to work just fine, but IIRC, the carcass seems really flimsy when aired down so extra care may be in order when it comes to sidewalls and sharp rocks.

That is not an illusion... there is not 300us worth of rubber there...

x2
not enough rubber for $300...

X3 on them being too pricey for the amount of tread left. A friend of mine used to run those on a toyota pickup and they were really loud. Way louder than the BFG mt's I was running at the time in the same size. I don't think these are terribly expensive tires to begin with. I would be surprised if they were more than $150 a tire new. Might be worth saving some more dough.

Those look REALLY worn. More like spares than anything else. Remember off road traction wise, tires are worn out way before they'd be considered worn out for road use.

I thought so

Thanks all,

I did pass on these. There just wasn't enough tread for that kind of $$$. Thanks again.
