I have had a nasty vibration through the whole cruiser for some time, thought I was back to a drive shaft problem although it was pretty severe.

Had the tires balanced at Kal tire where they put load on the tire and measure the static balance, two of the tires had to be turned on the rim they were so bad. Fewer weights added and smooth as a babes bottom now.

For 150.00 it seems excessive, but I had wheeled those tires for a few years now. Picked up on a thread were a guy was running around @ 8psi and regularly balanced tires until one day he marked his rim and tire which lead him to the problem.. The tire had been slipping and moving on the rim, causing the out of balance on a reqular basis.

I do not want to run beadlocks and Stauns are so bloody expensive., might have to start running 12 psi on the trails.

12psi... That's pretty much highway pressure for you

That's pretty interesting though. Never thought of tires slipping on the rims

staun tire deflators? you can get cheaper ones if so

I can certainly understand the tires spinning on the rims, especially since it's so wet as well.
Expensive lesson for the rest of us to learn by. To be honest, I'm surprised you haven't done more damage than
just spinning your wheels.

Heck I have run home on 8PSI, quite entertaining...

Staun beadlocks..

I read up on those staun bead locks. Really cool, but big bucks.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I did a very thorough search through BC vehicle
Inspection binder, and looked through BC motor vehicle act. I did not find any reference or
otherwise concerning two piece or beadlock wheels. So by that it seems to me that they could
be used without repercussions. I know you like that factory wheel, but something to consider

Where might I find a copy of the vehicle inspecion requirments? I have some questions.

Edit: sorry for the hijack PM me if you want.

As long as the beadlocks are DOT approved then there would be no problem with use on the road..
That being said most beadlocks are DIY kits and are not road worthy...
