I’m in the pre-planning mode of a suspension lift and larger tires and would appreciate some help before I purchase my new toys and find out I could have done something better or find I screwed up royally.

I have a 93 Cruiser that is mostly a DD I want to add a lift for trial ridding and aesthetics not much if at all rock climbing. So I need if possible a happy medium between on and off-road. I want the highest lift possible without having to deal with handling problems and drive-line vibrations I’ll be happy with a 3 or 4 inch lift. My future modifications will include the following:

ARB front bumper with winch
Rear Kaymar bumper
Dual batteries

So I need a lift with the proper weight classifications to handle the extra weight.

The brand of tires I want (BFG T/A) I want the biggest I can get with a 3” lift without any rubbing at all. Do I go narrow or wide? I need tires that are also going to handle well on the road and fit on the stock wheels.

Future thanks for your replies

George

OME 2.5" lift + 285/75/16 tires. Lots of info already posted, start with the FAQ, then do a search...

Tons of info, wide or skinny comes down to where you live and what you do.. Nitto Terra Grapplers are the best for the money if you ask me... GOOD LUCK!

Nitto Terra Grapplers are very good tires. Super pavement performance, wet and dry. The best off road AT on the market. Pliable, good grip, even semi decent in mud.

On the other hand, they do not last as long as the more expensive alternatives and don't get any points for appearance value in comparison. They are good tires for a 30,000 mile tire.

If you consider the cost of mounting, balancing and service life, they are not a very good deal unless you just are just dead set on Nittos.
