I don't know about Felix's wife, but mine goes through tires.

She's had two honda S2000's both of them the tires were shot at 10K miles.

On her current 330 BMW, the tires show signs of wear at 4000 miles.

I think she drives like she's on the track.

I made her sell the S2000 after she spun it a few times on back roads.

I literally can't take a cup of coffee in the car when she drives, even in the minivan. There is no hope of not spilling it.

She blew up the motor in her SLK at 10K miles and fried the clutch in her GTI at 36K miles. Hard on cars...

Perhaps Felix's wife drives the same way.

Man you need tougher tires.................

Or a different wife.

My wife drives fast, but she's never had tire troubles like she's had with these. These were also Pirelli, eufori, I think. Yeah, we forgot to rotate (and the dealer didn't do it at the 10K service), but at 14K miles the fronts had just about no tread. The rears had great tread, but each had a hole. One was punctured about 5 months ago in the middle of the tread and was repaired by a local place. The other just ate a drill bit, at least 1/4 inch. It was close enough to the sidewall to prohibit repair.

I figured that with two bald fronts and a patched-up rear, I needed a new set. The shop guy who mounted the new ones (non run-flat) mentioned that he's seen a lot of damage on run-flat tires. They need to run while flat since the tread is so delicate.

My in-laws had a MINI with run-flats that are toast at 14K miles, too.

Naw, I think that wife is perfect ... What I think you need to do is get her a track specific car and get into a local race club and start accessing the race tracks when they have club time.

Now there's a 'woman' with a need for 'speed' ... WOW !!!

Cahil

P.S. Hold onto your 'britches' because that kind of behavior usually doesn't go away by itself. Needs to be releases somewhere, either at the track or ... ???
