Hey All,

Found a set of 4 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's 265/70r16 with about 50% tread left that came of a Tacoma TRD. I'm currently running 31/10.5/15's on my '84 FJ60 with stock suspension, but will be putting new springs in soon to give it a lift. I know I can run 33's without a lift for the time being but that it will be tight.

Will these wheels/tires fit on my truck (Lug pattern should be the same)? Any thoughts on Bridgestone Duelers? Can't seem to find much opinion on them here on 'Mud. Thanks for the help.

Plain old Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts are exactly that -- plain. The good ones are the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs.

I think the size should be around 30" diameter, so about an inch smaller than what you already have. 265/75/R16 would be close to 31".

You never mentioned the type of wheels you have so we can't tell you if they'll fit or not.

Stock 15" steel wheels on a 60 series have 3.5" backspacing. So if the 16" wheels you speak of have 3.5 or 3.75" backspacing, you should be ok.

You're right about the tire diameter - they were advertised as 33" and I didn't think twice about it at first. Just checked the conversion and they do indeed fall just under 31" - I'm looking for something bigger, so nevermind that deal. Thanks for the help.

What kind of wheeling do you do? Rocks? Mud? Mostly DD with some fire roads mixed in?

I have them on mine ( I have 32x11.5's) and they were on there when I got my 60.
Pros: Great on the street, good on icy stuff, good for mild trail riding, even decent enough on some of the rocks.
Cons: Slick up with mud and snow pretty easily, not that agressive looking.

IMHO, If you can get a good deal and use it mostly for mild stuff and street driving, you'll be happy with them.

If they are Bridgestone 694 LT then they are well regarded here in Australia, particularly for rough stoney ground.

I have had a set for plenty of kilometres and they are wearing very well, and a strong tyre that goes well in sand. We have no snow or mud here - it hasn't rained in five months!

A point to consider in going for 16" is the increased range of tyre options available for 16" rims, and also the greater load rating that comes with the larger rim size.

When I moved from 31x10.5x15, I gained several 100kg extra load capacity and piece of mind when doing long off road fully loaded trips, where the 15" tyres had let me down big time with the heavy loads.

Tim
