I'll volunteer this as I think it is great.

I've been doing this for a while with a perfect success history.

I've taken to covering all my screens on little electronics gizmos with transparent "scotch" office tape. Basically, I just tape the screen up. My experience has been that the viewing is not adversely affected at all. In fact, it may reduce glare. But more importantly, the tape will protect from scratches on the screen.

I just removed a few minutes ago the tape from my phone and GPS. Had been on for a couple of years and was just now peeling off. Looked ugly. Scratched up. Well, under the (removable) tape the screen was in perfect shape. Like new. Not a scratch. Takes a minute to put new one on, and I'm good for another year or more.

YMMV, you may want to try out a bit of tape first in an inconspicuous area to make sure it comes off OK etc.

IIRC, "glossy" transparent tape worked better than "satin". More transparent.

Very useful for stuff that gets tossed in a pocket or bag or glovebox.

HTH.

Thanks pretty crafty. I could never do it on my phone as its a touch screen but I've got a couple electronics I'm going to give it a try on. I've tried using different types of cellphone protectors on other screens and they always seem to fall off or wear out soon as the adhesive never is all that strong.

Packing tape;)
