Hi all.

As I bought my 200 used (419 miles) it had all passenger windows tinted. Strange thing is that the rear passenger (2nd row) and rear door quarters have aftermarket tint on them.

Anyone have any idea why the 2nd row passenger windows would not be factory tinted on a loaded car produced March 2008? It is a US spec vehicle.

Just curious.

Thanks,
Gregg

"Factory tint" as in privacy glass? There is a difference. Privacy glass is "tint" between the layers of glass, not glued onto the glass as in aftermarket tint.

The 08 LC's do not have privacy glass. It has "green tinted" glass (but barely noticeable)

The rear three windows (third row side and read hatch) are what you call privacy glass from the factory. All others have a tint film.

Thanks for the info.

Looks much nicer if you go with aftermarket tint.

I just scored a 2013 all windows behind front driver and passenger windows are very dark. Not factory tint. Mine. Must have come with light tint. Is this normal for LC's to come with light tinted windows all the way around ? I didn't know.

I went with 20 all the way around and wife complains about driving at night. I just told her not to drive the 200.

I went 20 all around and the vehicle feels good to me. Only thing I wish that I had done front windshield as well. I am used to german double pane glass windows with UV protection. The sun is burning my skin from the front window.

Try 3m Crystalline window film for your front windshield. I have it on 4 vehicles an can tell a major difference!

It has 99% uv protection , SPF 1700+
No metal in film
