How hard is it to replace the timing cover gasket. Looks like mine is leaking and was thinking of replacing it while i have fan, belts, radiator and condensor allready off.

Remove the front balancer/pulley assembly and get after it.

Hopefully you do not find that it is really your engine end plate gasket leaking.

Replace the front main seal as well while you are in there.

If you do not have an engine FSM, now would be a good time to pick one up.

No big deal.

My impact will usually get them loose, but sometimes I have to resort to the breaker bar w/ cheater pipe. Always works.

Put the truck in 1st gear, 4WD, low range, set P-brake and chock a tire. That will hold the crank from turning.
