So I've finally saved the money up to get a timing belt kit, I have 318k on the clock and last change that I know of was at 190k so this is now a pressing issue for me. For those diyrs, which kit did yall buy and why? Is there an oem option? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Buy the Aisin TKT-021 kit (Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump and Hydraulic Tensioner). I found it on Amazon for $185 shipped.

Includes:
Water pump with gasket and O-ring
Mitsuboshi timing belt
OE timing belt pulley
OE timing belt tensioner
OE timing belt idler pulleys

Above^^^
It had an AISIN water pump and the gasket too.
I used it and all works well.

I am looking at this exact kit, plus some other stuff while I am in there. I have about 105K on my current timing belt (vehicle is at 205K) so trying to figure out what else to replace. Any other suggestions of parts to add to the kit?

Here's everything I replaced:

Aisin TKT-021 Timing Belt Kit
Beck Arnley 036-1863 Valve cover gasket set - RH
Beck Arnley 036-1864 Valve cover gasket set - LH
Stant 27283 Thermostat seal
Stant 14128 Thermostat - 180F
Gates 21660 Radiator Coolant hose - Upper
Gates 22491 Radiator Coolant hose - Lower
Denso 221-3152 Radiator
90311-A0001 Crank front seal
Gates K060882 Serpentine belt
Gates 36026 Serpentine belt idler pulley
Beck Arnley 0523919 Engine camshaft seal (x2)
Toyota 87248-60460 Heater Ts
Schley 64300 Crank tool
Zerex Asian Red Coolant (16 qts)

You're in there, might as well do it all. 210k on mine when I did it fyi.

Thank you all, how many banana job is this?

You know, if I had it to do again - especially being this far "involved" - I would have changed the oil pump also. Like you, my last timing belt service was at a little over 300k miles, so you have to figure the tolerances in the oil pump are greater than stock at that point. The AISIN oil pump (OPT-012) is cheap at about $70 on Amazon, so again, I wish I had changed mine......just because.

Just another opinion.

(OH, and do NOT forget to check your fan pulley bracket bearing [FBT-002]. Again, at those miles, it was a replacement item for me)

None of it is terribly difficult, just time consuming. Budget 12-20 hours depending on pace, skill, beers consumed and parts replaced.

Rockauto has the 021 kit for $166 FYI, may or may not be cheaper than amazon once shipping is added.

Get OEm radiator hoses, valve cover gasket, FIPG etc., I used Victor-Renez valve cover gasket in my 4unner and I see it is leaking a bit just in 5000 miles.
Also do the Tees' in the heater line.

I'm looking at doing mine over the Thanksgiving break and have 104k miles. I know @cruiseroutfit stocks the parts and will pick them up from him. I don't really want to do it at home but also don't want to spend the money to have someone else do it.

^^ I did it for the first time and it went smooth. Also I know I got it right because I did it. No coolant leaks.... all good!

I set the cam sprocket marks to TDC while most video's show ATDC as their point of reference. Notice there is a hidden 14 mm bolt holding the AC compressor to the fan bracket. It is only accessible from the front driver side wheel well.
