Even though my new to me 1999 LC only had 58K miles on it, the recommended change interval is 6 years and or 90K miles and mine had been in service for a little over 6 years. The majority of you guys recommended changing the timing belt, water pump, seals, and pulleys. I took your advise since the LC lived in Arizona its whole life it is rust free but has had to deal with a lot of heat. The serpentine belt was in need of replacement alot of cracks from the heat so I decided to have "all" the belts and hoses changed. I just stopped by while they were still working on it and the old water pump had started to leak, the timing belt looked good but the mechanic doubted it would of made it to 90K miles, since that would of taken me 3 more years with the water pump starting to leak, not good!!! Just a heads up to anyone that is thinking about not following Toyota's recommendation of 6 years and or 90K miles, DON'T!!!

Great advice !

Besides, even if its a little "early", there is NO reason to keep the original T-belt in there (if you are changing the water pump)
