When I bought the LC, 4 years ago and travel as tourist accross America, we were around 18mpg.
Arrived in Canada and using it everyday for working (trafic jam, stop and go...) the mpg felt progressivly to 11 and we had to be extremely careful and gentle to be able to get 16mpg (out of town only, without overspeeding)
I did the Tbelt and water pump last month...
Since, the mpg rise back to 18mpg and 16mpg is very easy to obtain, even in town.

I'm surprised a Tbelt could do that
Other explanation ?

Did you perhaps disconnect the battery and reset the ECU in the process?

No... but 2 or 3 weeks before I had an fuse issue (doing correction on the trailer wiring) and remove one by one all the fuse in the main box to test them... till I remember the other fuses panel.
Then we drove the LC on a 5 hours trip to get my new bike, straight road, my wife driving (all the best mileage conditions) and we had 15mpg.
I'm using a ScangaugeII (without setup modification) for 2 or 3 years... (not when I was traveling accross Usa at the beginning).
I did some verifications , once in a while, when filling up... always correct

Well, I did not notice anything...
I also replaced the whole accessory belt tensionner (with pulley).

I replaced the Tbelt 7K miles earlier, but it was close to the end of the sixth year.
The previous was 1 year old and 20k miles
