There is a study by the Bumper institute that came out in the Safe Driving magagine that putting slee's bumper on the back but driving with stock bumper in the front increases your chances of rollover by 80 percent in sunny areas. In case you did not know.....

hey...did u have the bumper work done yet???...i actually need the rear 'treadplate' (black tread plate)...any shot at getting that???...it is not a part that can be ordered w/o the bumper...

treadplate? the grey peice with the rounded ridges on it? That is all apart of the one peice of the bumper. Its not a seperate peice.

reactive armor? Hmmm, that sounds like somethin i would buy. Would it be 20mm, 40mm or 12guage? Or could you use it to make roasted marshmellows?

I think he's referring to the explosive reactive armor like the stuff you find on armored vehicles. It would basically blow the idiot's wheel off of the spindle. First thing I did when I bought my 100 was to order the ARB front and Kaymar rear replacement bars. Wife loves driving the 4runner around w/ the ARB winchbar up front...even offered to pay for the ARB for the LX w/ her personal savings! Only thing I've hit so far was an aluminum ladder in my folks' garage.

But the sliders are only effective against getting dinged by doors in the parking lot if they're hight enough. This means you really need the sliders, then a lift w/ bigger tires to get the slides up to an effective height. And because of the bigger tires, you'll need to regear or the speedo will be off!
