Hello,
I'm replacing the cylinder heads of my 1998 LC 100 2UZ FE and since I did not remove the engime due to lack of space in my garage, I'm having difficulty in tightening of the rearward head bolts. The procedure on FSM shows me that there are two steps to do that: step 1 24 ft(lbs) or 34 Nm and step 2 +90 degrees +90 degrees (180 ° total degrees) after marking the heads of bolts to be sure of the exact measure.
In your opinion, would be possible to replace the 180 ° degrees procedure with an equivalent tightening torque specific for the step 2?
Thanks a lot for helping me

Hey Fabio, the force being applied to the bolts varies and that is why the amount of turn that must be applied is spec’ed for the second two passes. You do not need to turn the 90-degrees in one motion. When I worked on mine I was only able to rotate about 10-degrees at a time for some. As long as you keep track of how far you have rotated them and hit the 90-degrees you should be good. They sell some attachments that keep track of the rotation angle if you need it. I just used a pen to mark a line on the bolt head and then tightened until it was at the correct angle. Good luck!

In my opinion too many kilometers on LPG without using specific additives for engine valves.

Hello,
here are the assembled heads.
The bolts were tight at 32 Nm, then +90° and +90° as in FSM.
For tighting heads bolts at + 90° and +90° , I did not use a ratchet wrench but a T handle wrench because in that way I tightened the bolts using the long arm of T handle as a protractor,
