I wanted to see if any other cruisers are going to TDS this year. I'm going to pull my pop up trailer out there and show up some jeeps with my 80.

Nice! I have a friend who has gone every year for the past 3 years and he swears by the event. I figure if it sucks I can go explore Anza Borrego

Wish I lived closer...one of these days :)

Unless you are networking its not gonna be your crowd, think of Socal traffic but offroading, lots of cool Jeep candy with a few other brand gems, the vendor stuff is good, but again Jeep based, not a big rockcrawling area, but fun oceanbottom trails, its an experence but Moab Jeep Safari is very similar, with better wheeling.
We go and watch the crowd and idiots wheeling way over their heads then go back to camp.

For the cruiser people, I'd suggest you check out Ocotillo Wells and Truckhaven (what you can still access at least) when there is not an event going on. The trails are so silty that they get really tore up.

I've ran TDS in the cruiser before and had a blast. Waiting in line with 200 vehicles ahead of you isn't a blast. We were out there in buggies this weekend, but not for TDS.

I was out there this weekend too. It was happening, but there was a lot of traffic and dust, so we didn't stay long. Ended up Anza Borrego and Ocotillo wells. Toyotas (especially trucks) were well represented there.

X2, the entertainment (idiots wheeling) this year was over the top.
