I've had three different suppliers send me three different tie rod ends for my RHD 1990 Prado. This is for the left hand (passenger's) side of my right hand drive truck, the rod end in front of the axle, not the trailing arm end. Why is this so difficult to find? I've used the usual online parts diagrams, and so have they, but to no effect.

This is getting expensive, especially when suppliers tell me they had to special order the part and won't take it back when it doesn't fit.

My old rod end is removed and unusable, so I'm minus a vehicle until this gets solved. Suppliers on the list, help!

What have you been sent? Wrong size altogether or thread issues?
Throw up some pics / P/N's
Below is what's supposed to be on the L/H side of the fwd steering rod.

If the one supplied is threaded the wrong way has your steering rod been removed completely and installed the wrong way around? as one side is R/H thread and the other L/H thread.

This is for the L/H rod end P/N 45045-69065 which is a R/H thread

Hope this helps a bit.
Note: depending on supplier you dont always have a grease nipple.

This is a great help. The truck is at a local shop, so I cant take any pictures now. I was wondering if the rod had been turned over. The problem with one of the parts delivered was that the thread pitch was backwards.

My mechanic just called. He finally got someone in a parts house to listen, and to send the right part. Yes, the rod had been flipped over at some point in the past. We now will have one of each of the parts you list above. I'm having both replaced, and flipping the rod back to normal so 10 years from now, I won't be fighting this same thing again.
