It's not the fuel filter, which is new and has only done a few miles.Ok, so under load… hm do you have a laptop with Techstream and a OBD dongle? It is in my eyes very unlikely for your mileage (and I never heared about with that super low km) but still a possibility that you maybe have problems with your valves.
A way to check this by the Injection Feedback Value wich tells you the offset of your injection in mm^3/stroke at a value of +/-3 you should normally start to take a look at the valves.
Ps.:
Another thing that I had was a very rough sounding engine while accelerating due to a very overdue diesel filter. In case just unscrew the cover and pop the filter with a screwdriver and take a look if it is already very dark.
In case you need to unplug the connector and get the fuel filter error code in the dash after unplug it, double tap the starter button (without starting the car) and then plug it in. This should reset the fuel light if it appears.
i have used injector cleaner and premium fuel, and still the same.I bought used j200 this year as well and recently started to have similar ticking sound as you described. Mileage is 194k Km or ~120k miles.
My first guess was also injectors. Yesterday I added injector cleaning additive when I refilled fuel tank- shall see if it works. Seems like previous owner has used it for short trips mostly and injector nozzle tips could be clogged which hinders solenoid movement.
I will give feedback within week or two, if it helped (I usually do not belive in those additives). Also wating for your injector values![]()
