Hey Mudders,

We have an '09 LC. Yesterday when my family and I were getting ready to go to my folks house, as I was leaving our driveway, going forward, there was a brief delay in the LC moving and then a bit of a lunge forward. Drove just fine afterwards. I asked my wife about it and she said that it had done that to her a couple times before...thanks for telling me?! ;)

Any thoughts? Much appreciated!

Is this an engine response delay, or transmission delay? If transmission, check the tranny fluid level.

For engine, if I had to take a guess, this sounds like an air/fuel issue.

1) Vacuum leak - check that the air filter cover is on securely. Check the intake pipe to the throttle body
2) Check throttle body - maybe cleaning
3) Fuel pump - worn pump

If you have techstream or an OBD-II monitor, check your fuel trims. That would give you a major clue as to the source of the issue.

Depending on mileage of the vehicle, often it is a dirty (and thus sticking) throttle plate. the 2GR-FE (Avalons, Highlanders, Venzas) is especially bad for this, and while I haven't experienced it in a 3UR-FE platform, I would suspect that is the most likely cause.

At least a couple others have experienced a transmission shift delay. I’d change the fluid.
