Looking for some help. To obtain a decent crawl ratio I'm getting a new transmission/transfer case combo ready for my piggy, and have a question. I mounted a three speed transfer case from a 73 FJ40 behind a non-USA (low first gear ratio) land cruiser 4 speed transmission. Everything is bolted together and feels great, but I find that neither a four speed transfer case shifter nor a three speed shifter that I had lying around mount up and work readily.

Anyone done this before- I have to believe there's combos like this out there. What did you do for the shift linkage? I look forward to and appreciate any insight you can lend. Thanks, Shmukter

The only thing I can think of Gary is that you need the linkage from a '74 - that's the transition year for those funky 3/4 speed transfercases...

check with cruiserguy, he's doing that with his FJ45LV.

I have this set up on my 74 you will like lot, it makes my piggy feel 1000#s lighter on the trail. good luck.

I have the 4spd with the 3spd xfer in my 1969 pig. It is a vacuum shift control though. I had to lengthen the high/low linkage 3.5" and extend the vacuum hoses. I like having the controls on the dash, it is like a short throw twin stick.
