Three 6 Hybrids is Moving Out of the Carport

It made a noticeable improvement. You bang on the wall now and both sides of the crack feel like one. Very solid.

We’re about 1/3 of the way through (I’ll do more on the outside later), but I think it will move faster now that we know what we’re doing.

Once this is done, we’re ready to prime and then final prep for interior paint.

This is a huge advancement in the project.

carbon fiber walls?
i need to update my simulation software...

The last of the trio of 2Fs is done...

This is headed down to Collins, MS to go back in a super clean 60 that has been body-off restored. This is going to be sweet.

Out of curiosity, what made you have it looked at by a SE to start with?

Whoa, slow down. No SE’s have or will be looking at this :grinpimp:

They finished up the carbon fiber yesterday and are priming today. We’ll put some more of this on the exterior when we get to that point.

I'm curious: Was there a perceived structural concern on the building? I bought a building a couple of years ago that's built exactly like this one (well, almost. My roof trusses sit on top of the pilasters in your photo and run perpendicular to those walls.....but the walls are 100% block like yours), and due to the wonderful Mississippi soil, the walls had moved slightly, causing numerous mortar "shifts." Our SE said there were no concerns about the integrity of the walls / building, and, in fact, we had a few cracked blocks removed and replaced in the standing walls. Granted, they must have incorporated some magic in their process, but nevertheless, they did it. Again, I'm just asking about what was the issue that prompted the installation of the CF?

The “issue” is the incessant mental anguish generated by the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (entropy is always increasing).

Rotting wood, leaky roofs, weeds growing in concrete, rusting metal, cracks & shifts in concrete block caused by a settling foundation.... These things stress me to no end.

It’s why I am so slow with projects - I like to enjoy things in their perfect and pure state before entropy has her way with them.

In this particular case, the carbon fiber quieted the mental noise just enough to get on with life since I know that spreading the gravitational stress on the footing over a greater area will slow the entropy at any single point. Then I can caulk up the cracks, paint over it and “launder” this repair into the rest of the building’s character if I sell it down the road.

Very cool project. You would have made a good Rocket Scientist

True that. All the years of reading on this site and this is the first mention of entropy (or anything even hinting towards entropy) I’ve ever come across. I’m looking forward to the forthcoming references to black holes and the state of ‘things’ moments before the Big Bang. Good stuff...

I only got a ‘C’ in the Rocket Science class I took (and was happy to get that), and I’m more of a Computer Simulation guy than an astrophysicist, but if I can upload a video to YouTube and get the code right to insert it into a post, I’ll demonstrate the practical application of a rocket nozzle to solve a biology problem.

Saw that in Vegas one time. cost me $100. Bet we could get her for the grand opening. I think I left her card in @woody or @jrob camper....

This isn’t as exciting as the Vegas talent, but when vegetation doesn’t respond to Roundup, you have to turn the dial a little more...

500,000 btus makes the 20lb propane tank turn ice cold instantly as it quickly exits the building.

funny she said something close to the same thing....

On that note, maybe we should shop local. There’s a new “service provider” patrolling the sidewalks in the area. Looks kinda like the non-movie version of the Snow Bunny in Hustle & Flow.

get its demo tape. @Bodean handles talent....

Holy s*** this is awesome.

Three 6 Hybrids talent broker.

Speaking of the simulation, I sh!t you not, a Lun@ti called the other day inquiring about bringing his 62 back to life. I asked if he was related to any of the other Lun@it’s in the area and the Platinum Plus owner is his brother. Small world.

Ahhhh. Gotcha. Makes sense. At the same time, what about the carbon fiber interfering with the uniformity of the block wall appearance? (i.e., when pained, there will be smooth sections in the concrete block grid......)
