With Cyber Monday deals going on, I was thinking about pulling the trigger on a snorkel. I found one on Iron Man's website Toyota 100 Series Land Cruiser/Lexus LX470 Airforce Snorkel . I like it but Im not sure if there is any draw back to getting that style vs the Safari type. Any thoughts or am I missing something here?

These are stupid expensive, but look incredible. After seeing one of these at HIH, I'm not sure I could cut a hole in my car for anything less. They're taking orders for the 100 version, I believe.

You liked it? I’ve been thinking about buying one from Australia but I just worry it’s a little too ricey. I’m on the fence

Yeah, I thought it was great. If the well-crafted steel tubing bent at all the right angles doesn't make you think, "Whoa, cool!" then I suppose it might just look a little too loud. They do offer a black coated version which would be more subtle. Not like the typical plastic ones are subtle anyways, though. I mean, we're talking about cutting a large hole in perfectly good bodywork so we can presumably cross river water well over the hood of the car. It's not exactly a subtle and practical thing either way. Might as well make the giant addition to your car's exterior look like it wasn't a cheap piece of blow-molded plastic from Taiwan.

That is clean!

All I know is my experience with ironman direct orders has been... poor. I have had a product damaged in shipping and left at my doorstep while at work. Their policy is that if you receive the product you have to deal with the carrier for your claim directly, or ship it back to them on your dime.

Read their fine print sometime, including all of the "outs" they give themselves for warranty claims. It's an interesting business model for sure.

I'm probably in the minority but I think snorkels do not look appealing at all. That one above is the least offensive to me.
