I scheduled an appointment to get the exhaust run on my 40 for Tues. My plan is to fire old girl up on Sat. afternoon. Took the day off work to be at the exhaust shop for it as there are some specific things I need in place.
Seeing as you all have listened, helped, hindered and harassed on this build it would be my GREAT HONOR if you would come and share my JOY or TEARS on this momentous day!
Plus...If something goes wrong....Id love some extra brain power.:D

Cant FUGGIN WAIT!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

BTW...I will NOT start it until everyone is there, so....it truly will be the FIRST TIME! I owe you all at least that much for all the time you guyz have in this too, especially Rusty!

Ordinarily... I'd postpone it for ya, but....
I just can't wait!!!!

Keith,
I'll pm you my address later today. I've gotta get you your crimp tool and box of connectors back to ya!!
It'd be great to have you.

I would like to be there! Will be going to the Nevada Game at 1:00. Any idea on the time the magic happens? I could come before or after the game. The games usually last about three Hrs. Anyhow if I am not there good luck with Matty. She is so clean and shiny!

Free rides around the Culesac?:p

Mark... I'm hoping to make a little party out of this thing, so figure on firing it around 230 or 3.
For everyone. I'm getting a keg of icky, and gonna have some pizza. If you feel like it, bring a side dish.
Hang out after if you can.
I plan on drinking to either celebrate or drown my sorrows!!!! :D
Gonna have a few friends from work there and few other people too.
I'll have to prime the power steering too, so I may need some help w/ that.

Thanks everyone.

Ooooo...my fav in brews! Good choice there Keith

I should be able to make that. If not, I'll let you know.

CONGRATS!

PS is easy, fill it up, turn the steering from lock to lock (slowly). Refill, rinse, repeat until all of the air is bled out. Just keep the pump full, especially on initial startup.

See everyone there.

The rig has to be running though, correct? Its not something I can do NOW?
Another thing...I pre filled the oil filter, is it imperative to drop some oil into the cylinder heads PRIOR to firing this thing for the first time?
Also, Ill obviously fill the rad. with fluid and Ill just need to fill the rest as she's warming up?

It does. All you can do is fill the reservoir, some might bleed into the box, but yeah, to get it right, it has to be running.

For as long as your motor has been sitting, it wouldn't hurt to pull the plugs and fog the cylinders with some light oil before you start. Plus I would fog the cylinders and turn it over manually before adding fire.

Yep on the radiator as well.

Going to be fun.

Thanks.
I was hoping I could get the PS bled before the lighting ceremony...
It really would be cool to be able to actually drive it too this weekend. Just move her under her own power.
I was planning on cranking it just to get thing stirred up a bit before adding the fuel and make sure the starter works and stuff.

I'm beyond excited at this point!!!!

Got the beer ordered today. Looks as of it might be cold. We could have a fire in the fire pit in the back for those who wanna hang out. I'll also have the propane heater in the garage.
