local guy drops off his 68 Saturday. tells me it's making clunking rotational noise, mostly in low range. I thought he might have had a bearing issue but instead I find this stuck to the drain plug of the transfer.

Looks like a fun project. At least the weather is warming up a bit so pulling the t case and rebuilding or replacing won't be so bad.

here is what I found after taking the transfer off. missing tooth on the big idler gear which then chipped some teeth lower down.
it's up and running again with a replacement box. customer will pick up tomorrow.
