Third Row With Seating - Storage Options?

I have to keep the third row seats installed (3 kids + 2 dogs) which of course severely limits storage options. I am looking for storage options for items I want to carry every day but don't necessarily require frequent access - jumper cables, a small umbrella, first aid kit, a few extra tools, etc. Right now I carry these items in a small rubbermaid container but I don't like the projectile risk associated with that and it is not the most efficient use of space. Some of this also fits in the tailgate but not all of it.

Has anyone tried small molle panels on the back of the third row seats or panels on the rear pillars?

For those of you that run the third row with passengers show me your creative storage options.

You could put it in a duffel, attached to the rearmost floor mounted d rings with a carabiner, strap or net. Some tools could fit in the tailgate storage, others (like a first aid kit) in the bin by the jack. You could build or have someone fabricate a custom narrow box that you can attach to the mounting points that the d rings are installed into in the floor.

Or what about bolting down a suitably sized Pelican case (or copycat product)? You can even buy cheap versions at Harbor Freight.
