My Aussie 3B thermostat outlet points to the passenger side while every other photo I have seen points to the driver side. Any reason?

The 2H version of that upper thermostat housing will happily rotate to point the opposite way.. perhaps the 3B version does too?

Very early 3Bs had them pointing in that direction I think, clearly it's wrong for your vehicle looking at the top radiator hose path. Once they started fitting an external power steering pump on the B engines, they swapped the direction of output to the left of the vejhicle, to suit your radiator. Sadly the accountants at Toyota have stopped production of all examples of upper thermostat housing pointing to the left of the vehicle for all B engines (Landcruiser 3Bs and some 15B-Fs). It would frankly be easier to get the filler neck and input pipe radiator top tanks switched on your radiator. Or get a 2H top cover (still available) and have it welded onto the foot of your existing cover.
