So... My new to me LX has welcomed me to the community in style. I had a few things that I knew needed some work so I took it to a Lexus technician in Atlanta to get an assessment of things that needed to be done. The list and quotes came back larger than expected:
- Timing Belt
- CV boots
- Front Brakes and bearings
- Water pump
- Thermostat
- Valve cover gaskets
- Spark plugs
And the kicker:
- Brake Booster Pump error code (brakes still work fine)
After a quote totally $7800 (I paid $7200 for the truck) I decided this was a great opportunity to learn about my rig.
I have ordered all of the parts (minus the Brake booster pump) and am going to get started with the brakes, CV boots, and bearings this weekend. I will attempt the rest over the next couple weekends.
Not too worried as I have done most of this before but we will see.
Anyone know of someone in Atlanta that will rebuild the Brake Booster Pump?
Also if you are in the Tucker area this weekend and want to stop in and supervise (I have a kegerator full of beer) please feel free.
Wish me luck!
