I have to admit, it’s a little odd seeing you do a SR. Almost half expecting to see you do an SOA next week 🤔

Ive never done one except on a SOA with cut/turn

I was looking for a little lift and to move my axle forward. The “kit” if as advertised would have been a great fix. Plus people that run them swear by them.

Seems every truck that comes out of Voodoo and Proffitt have them and they both do lots of these kits.

I ran it by Dave at 4Plus. He was all for It. He turned this kit over to MAF years ago. Not sure if the rear shackle stuff is his design or theirs but it’s not good with my setup without way more fiddling.

I have a gap in projects and it’s too cold to do anything but fiddle so that’s what I’ll do. Fiddle and make it work.

I got that kit on Ole Blue and the front shackle is at 90° with all the weight on her! It's what was available at the time when it was installed! If it was me initially I would've went with Cruiser Outfitters lift, a much better product!! I'm actually thinking about removing it and going that route 🤔😉

Well I’ll have both when I’m done.

I just cut that kit off my pig. The PO had the front mount flipped around. Maybe to move the axle forward or they were tards. Doesn't matter, its in the scrap now.

Ill bet tards.

So, *one possible fix*, is to make the springs 1” longer between the center pin and rear spring eye. This can be done with the main leaves. This gives you the proper shackle angle and keeps the axle in the preferred position. Search out your local spring shop and have them do it.

There is 100% no chance I’ll be making new springs.

Don’t be scared. I know it gives you anxiety, but it’ll be okay.
Haha. Im not scared but I think I can get this right without that step. If not I’ll cut all this s*** off and put it back like it was

I respect the fact that you have done this before but did you use the same springs I
Have? I just don’t know how you can say “add 1” to the main leaf” and it’s golden
Not “golden” but “magic”! No amount of growth hormone will add an inch to your pack, no matter what the 2am infomercials claim!

I felt like bobm with that post.:rofl::rofl:;)

The comment wasn’t specifically aimed at you. More of a generalization. It looks like *most* setups that run that shackle reversal are either straight up 90* like Bob said, or in the negative (like mine was) which will wreak havoc on your frame. This newer kit might be a little better, but probably because the front hanger sits farther rearward than previous.

I almost bailed on this this morning but I needed to test that long stroke air hammer.

It was not doing what I expected then I remembered McInnis told me to sharpen the blade. That did the job

Im all in now
