Just binge read this whole thread. Awesome! Makes me want to spend $$$ getting my FJ55 fixed up and capable of more than 50mph!

Just start with a better body than I did. I have to do something for sure now. All this banging around on trails and my lack of proper body mounts is taking a toll on everything in the Pig.

Also I ripped out my bondo fender for good this time out.

I was feeling real bad at the Swine Soirée when I was following @Voodoocruisers with those dopey Stark LED headlights.

Beno turned me on to some Toyota Koito H4 headlamps and I bought a set for a 40 I’m building, my 40, 55 and 45.

kit comes from Toyota with 2 lamps, 2 bulbs and a wiring harness to upgrade your stock harness. It’s basically plug and play if you have the correct ends for battery. I had to put larger hoops on mine.

I did a bulb test in this thread. Page 3

Interesting! Thanks for sharing Nolan!

Am I reading you correct that you went w/ Phillips 55/60 inserts?

It came with those and yes after testing the lot I ended up staying with the OG beams for that truck.
The Hella extreme white XB 100/80w were my second favorite as I’ve gotten used to white light lately.

Stock top. Hella 100/80 next, Hella 130/90 third and Hella extreme white bottom.

LED bulbs were a hot mess.

My 1969 body is OK but I am very concerned about several of my body mounts and thus hesitant to go over a bump on a paved road much less off-road. I need the BobM rockers, pillar mounts, and floor mounts...another thread I have read while trying to formulate a plan for my resto-mod.

The ones under my floorboards are bad. I replaced one but need more rubber in there. The passenger is all eaten up.
I am installing a lift soon. When I do that I’ll go ahead and lift the body up and replace them correctly.
@bobm I need a passenger side body mount next time you churning and burning

I broke my plastic window crank trying to get my window down fast to get a picture of @WharfRat pulling the diesel hose out but he got it hung up in time

The whites look good, but I hear that color is not so good in wet conditions...

You have a donor fender lip you’re gonna graft in? Or...?

Not at the moment. I’m going to locate both sides and try to get it all fixed at the same time. Right now I’m going to seal up the seam and roll on.

Summer is my favorite big project time. Too hot here to drive these things.

Also, this last trip was BIG time cold for old Mississippi boys. Low 20s the first day and thirty’s the next.

I noticed I was getting great heat but it was coming out in odd places.

Also there was no way I could get my defrost to work. It used to....but the lever won’t go past Heat.....

Turns out when I did the engine swap I closed the heat door down into the transmission hump. It’s all bolted down tight to the floor.

Awesome. This may the excuse I need for that Vintage Air kit :)
