Given to me from my grandpa.
Bet he shot 1,000,000 birds with it. For real. 1,000,000.

Needs to be professionally redone after it got smoke damage from a small house fire years ago.

Did you have to get longer leaf spring pins for the caster shims? Or are the bolts/pins long enough on your OME springs? I think I may just go ahead and order the 2° shims and put them in on initial install because I know I will lose all of that in caster.

These things are pretty thick. I know the Ubolts have plenty but the pins may need replacing. I’d order them too.

We will have the exact setup and I’m thinking 4* not 2* though.

Its extended shackles that throw it all out of whack. These OME type are only about 1.5" over stock length so I was thinking it would not be critical. I guess its not critical but I want it as good as I can get it.

Toyota put a marginal amount of caster to begin with (read most guys don’t drive stock suspension over 55MPH without fear of crashing) and if you add any length to the front shackle and power steering it gets sketchy.

Most straight axle vehicles of the same time period started with three times the caster of our 55’s and are a bit more forgiving.

Popped the 4* caster shims in.

One side at a time. @dogfishlake , the original pins are plenty long enough.

Wow. What a HUGE difference they made. I have zero float left. One finger at 75 on a 2 lane in a gentle curve.

Too hot for too long of a drive but i immediately knew

Righteous. Thanks for the info. I'm going to just put em in right off the bat. No vibes from the rear driveshaft?

It’s the front so it’s not turning but the angle is fine

Sorry, I wasn't being very clear there. Understood the shims fixed up the front.

I meant that as far as the rear shaft goes, it is all smooth? I had to put shims in my rear on my 40 due to vibes after the lift.
