Added the new City Racer fuse box. Sweet. Love new electronics.

Also was losing pressure on my clutch. Just decided to toss parts at it.

New Aisin master and skave. $70 off Amazon and an OEM hose from Beno.

Resuming the CLR bath this afternoon.

Loving the blue that peeked out after polishing the fenders

Love the tailgate.

Slobbish beast has had all of the panels polished out with CLR. Now we wait for some sweet surface rust to get the bare metal and then apply boiled linseed oil.

Paint is for pussies.

Mad Max would be proud! Onward...

Had some forward and sideways progress today.

Got the 12v plug going. 12v constant so that’s nice.

Got the two bulbs in the gauge cluster that were burned out replaced.

What I thought was bad gauges ended up being that the round plug was unplugged.

Same with the speedo not working. It was unplugged. (That’s a bitch to get stabbed in there)

The only thing electric not working right now is the fuel gauge.

I installed an LED panel into the overhead light.

Finally I’m chasing grounds on the Blinkers. They work until the lights come on.

I think this is the final mouse nest. No other places I have not looked.

Any idea what this plug is for? It’s right at the base of the cluster. Nothing for it to plug into that I can see.

Both of the blinker lights come on when the headlights come on. Goofy.

Well, stupid me. Trying to get it all wired up I never even noticed that my brake switch wasn’t on the truck. There was the thing the above plug I asked about goes.

I went back to the parts pig and son of a gun, there was the part I needed.

I have brake lights now. I’ve been driving the s*** out of it thinking I had brake lights.

Blinkers are overrated right? Neither the Goat or Patina have them :)

So I'm hoping the P/S rear quarter will get an almond over merlot treatment, properly aged and patina'd, of course.

Yeah. I’m leaning that way. However the Almomd is an issue seeing that the door and tailgate white is Olympic White.

Likely we will be looking at White back there.

I swapped out my rear door panels with the gray 1977 panels. Vacuumed out the garbage in the doors. Treated the insides. Lubed up the runners and I’ve got new rear doors.

Also got my skid plate installed. Took two frame holes drilled and nutserts

Bitch.

Body and paint day worthy of the Warthog

Once it dries good I’ll blend it in with some sanding

Curious as to what point you draw the line with CLR and resort to the Total Solutions rust converter?

I do a two step. CLR to clean the paint down to the base coat then I rub the rusted metal with boiled linseed oil.

This is the 45 I did.

The linseed oil has to be reapplied but I like what it does to the rusted metal

I am going to give the CLR a go and see how all the rust spots clean up. I may just wax it as the paint shined up pretty nice last time I tried. Sounds like the linseed oil might be better for keeping the rust from growing though, which I do not think the wax will do much for. How often do you reapply the linseed oil?
