So I’m ready for some road miles starting tomorrow. I’m local through Wednesday and the weather is great so I’m off.

In the mean time the only off thing so far is a quirky electrical system.

I pulled the fuse box and cleaned and cleaned again. Added some terminal grease and got every fuse junction working but one mis-placement of a fuse and that section goes out. Box looks great. Fuses are tight. Frustrating.

Then I look at @Racer65 page and I’ll be damned if this 77 FJ40 box is not the same as my Pig.

I should have known. I’d have tossed this $70 part at it long ago.

Stopping is good Bob.....except that time the engine died.....

The only main issue I have felt since I fired up the Pig a year ago was a pretty wicked “shudder” when I released the clutch in first and reverse.

I have been thinking it was a bad clutch but after driving it hard all day I realized the clutch is great in all the other gears so it had to be something else.

Big improvement for sure.

Talk about an "Ah-ha" moment! I do have some nasty shudder when starting out in 1st. I always ASS-umed that I should have had the flywheel re-surfaced when we did the swap!

Which mount is that?

Thanks for posting this detail, it could make a big difference for me!

Drivers side. May help. Mine still has some I know is the flywheel but I’ll deal with that for a long long time before a tackle a clutch. I did 3 clutch jobs in 2017 and that is 3 too many.

DS front mount, yes?

You still have some chatter?

Chatter yes. Entire drivetrain shudder went down 75%

Put a bottle jack under the block above the driver axle pad and lift. If the motor mount is toast you will know quickly.
