A favourite thing as a kid was visiting one of my uncle's who loved growing grapes, and any other unusual fruit he could find.
Doing the rounds of his 3-4 acre gardens to find what was in season and ready to eat was always fun

He had loads of old school grape varieties.
He'd seek at property owners and nurseries and ask for cuttings to propogate his own vines or fruit trees any time he found another variety.

We need an update from @surfpig on the gardens.
I did plant one artichoke, so that means vegetative this year
and thistles next year.
Tomatoes are in and very happy, I planted most of the peppers a week or two ago, they're coming along pretty good. Just have to keep the critters at bay now.

A goal sometimes is a tomato before Memorial Day.

@surfpig
What's happening in your garden?
Weather should be great for you.
Too hot up here, predicted to be 104 to 106F today.
Boomin! Weather has been wacky though.

Blueberries are less than last year. But daughter was visiting for the last two weeks, so many maybe haven’t even made into the kitchen. So it goes.

OK. So we were gone for a few days last week and came back yesterday to this sunflower that had tipped over. More on that in a minute. Brief summary of July:

All the neighbors got a bunch of flowers. Anyway, tomorrow maybe I can get in and harvest some peppers. It’s a jungle out there!

:lol:

Peppers. Pickled or hot sauce. Don’t know yet.
