Getting to be about that time again...

You know Surf, the one thing I like is red (bell) pepper jelly. I can only find it if it has been made by some talented little old lady in her kitchen.

I likes me some jalapeño or Serrano jelly. Pomegranate/Serrano jelly is the bomb diggity.

I know things...

The wife has gone full bore on canning and asked what I would like...
6 bunches of green onions, 20 roma tomatoes, 12 serranos, 2 bunches of cilantro (all hand chopped).
Juice from 2 limes and a dose of Lowry's garlic salt.
Hope the canning process does all the yummy freshness justice. :frown:

OK fellas, riddle me this
Take the humble jalapeno.
Is this correct?
Green = Jalapeno
Red = Fresno
Red/smoked/dried = Chipotle

Also, in some parts of the US it is getting warm enough to start our gardens.
What'cha got?
This past fall/winter I lost my pomegranate tree.
High winds and soaked soil, and some bad pruning on my part.

I think Fresno is a variety of jalepeno. Any Jalep will turn red when it ripens. Otherwise, yeah.

I planted my tomato seeds a few weeks ago, they're coming along nicely. Will plant them out around the end of this month.

I've had some good cauliflower and a few OK broccoli harvests the last few weeks. That's about it at the moment.

Yup Surfy,
I knew about the ripening process.
Just going on about proper names, to see if what I
thought was actually correct. So thanks.
I have spent many years in the fields of western Fresno Co,
and Merced, Madera, and Kings Co.
I miss it sometimes, but my back and feet don't.

Repotting tomato babies…

Had some good cauliflower this season, more on the way…

I'm going to plant out my tomatoes this weekend.

Fair warning: there will be a hailstorm in the Sacramento Valley in the very near future.

:lol:
