Hello YT folks,

There is an idea/opportunity for the club that members should weigh-in on as it involves club funds.

The idea is to start a YT line of clothing designed to create revenue for the club throughout the year. Here are a few details on how it could work:

- 100% of the proceeds would go to the club
- No club cost for artwork
- Members would have a vote in what gets produced, ie; artwork, articles of clothing, stickers, price points
- Items would have YT logos and Fall Gathering artwork
- Some item artwork would be generic Toyota or Land Cruiser focused to appeal to the wider Toyota community
- The club would manage the line of goods and items would be available through an online store

After ten years of creating artwork and clothing for YT on my own and with Jason Peters, we have received many requests for more collectible clothing, additional items, and custom artwork. The YT BOD is trying to understand if this is something that members would be interested in and would support, if the project moved forward.

Please us what you think.What items would you like to be available for purchase? Hats, tees, sweatshirts, trail jackets, ponchos, chaps, stickers, or anything else you'd like to see.

FWIW I have had many event shirts come and go. But I still have a very nice North Country Cruisers button down shirt with embroidered logos around that Randy had made back in the day. Might have to bring it along to the FG this year for grins.

Make the product with high quality materials and I would definitely be interested.

This is a great idea to produce some cool swag, and put some money in YT's bank account. Producing YT specific items and general Cruiser gear is a good idea.

I like Jason's idea of a retro style Toyota Tech work shirt...I've always liked those.

Love the designs thus far. To ensure the success of the products, maybe use the 'poll' function of the chat forum to have people vote for items/designs.

Ebay store for the general cruiser products?

I love gear like that.. Embroided tees or golf shirts, etc. My only comment is that I don't drive a Land Cruiser. I love my 04 4Runner and it does a dang good job on the trails. I'm for more generic Toyota logos. I love the 40, 60s and 80s, but prefer the gear not be vehicle specific.

I have heard in person and through the grapevine that some folks want to see more designs focused on rigs other than the 40 series. Really? Toyota made other Land Cruisers? Kidding aside, it would be great to offer shwag that represents most if not all of the trucks in YT. In the past, most trucks in the club were 40s and that's what folks wanted on the shirts. The past couple of years we focused on non-vehicle specific artwork to avoid this issue and make the shirts relevant to all members.

Part of the thinking is to create a YT line of clothing that is driven by member input. I can see polls being helpful in creating items that are in highest demand and sell through.

Keep the comments coming, both positive and negative, as it's very helpful. It seems like there is decent interest.
