If there is some wiggle room forward that might work, it’s definitely worth a try. I am going to pull those bucket seats tonight and set in the backrest if it will fit with the bucket tubing and see what it looks like.
 
Speaking of hinges...

 
My son came out and got all the hard to reach bolts out and we were able to remove the buckets. The threads were all good for the seat back bolts after running the rethreader through so what was nice. It bolted in with ease but now the trouble can be visualized. The passenger side seems to have plenty of space, maybe even enough to use the factory bracket with modifications. The driver side is another story. The cage is far from symmetrical in this location putting the bar further forward and inward fowling the seat back (hard to see in the pics). Hmmmmm

Well that is a good question, the roll cage would be nice, but I do worry about knocking skulls against it. It is fairly well done except for this particular spot. The front seats are tied into it too.

It’s going to be a local cars and coffee pavement pounder with occasional trips to Colorado, Windrock, Silver Lake etc.
