Mine's just threaded. Don't use channel locks, you'll tear up the knob. I have a spare if you kill yours, but the little shift pattern sticker came unglued. You can HAVE it if you need it.

My Xfer case knob will twist off, but I can't seem to get the knob off the trans, either.

Looking for both that still have the shift pattern logo...I found a regular shift knob at JT outfitters for like $20......where to go to get the transfer knob?

im tellng you guys just pull real hard if it doesnt twist off. mine just crams on there with slots on both sides.

mine just says toyota, no shift pattern. i like it that way. after having vehicles stolen anything to make it more fxxxed for them. (referring to the odd placement of reverse)

Stock one should twist off, some of the cheaper ones you buy have a ring at the bottom of the knob that twists off than has little screws that you have to loosen.
