It's been hot. Escaped the heat yesterday afternoon and went out wheeling with a good friend. Got back late, around 10:30pm.

The sunset was excellent!

A sharp eye will notice that a tree branch robbed me of my window seal trim piece. Going to go back out today or tomorrow to see if I can find it hah!

Dude I've been wheeling for 4 years with an open center diff. Haha. I thought I read that it was always on in low
Well ATRAC probably kept the wheel spin in check! But my 98 trying to go uphill with open central lock is like a camry. The feont wheel with least traction starts spinning and the other three just chill out o_O

Weirdly it is raining and sunny out at the same time here!

My dad’s new-to-him 2006 LX is starting to take shape. Picked up some 275/65r18 Toyo Open Country AT III’s. Apparently these came out just a few weeks ago. Really impressed so far with the ride quality and quietness. This is a road trip vehicle for him so this size allowed us to stick with SL tires to keep that ride buttery smooth! Planning a full fluid baseline, bakes, bearings, and a few other odds and ends.

Yearly expedition from Houston TX to Buffalo City Arkansas where my wife’s family has a small cabin on the White and Buffalo river. River was quite high due to the recent tropical storm but we had a great time even without the fishing.

Four states, a tropical storm and a total of 1500 miles of great family time was spent in the Land Bruiser. New Air Down Gear Up SS1 system and Blue Ridge Cruiser Gear Attic proved to be quite useful. The V-Line unit also was nice if not a bit annoying as the Apple CarPlay would disconnect post phone call and does not auto reconnect when loosing it’s Wi-Fi connection.

Rolled into the driveway 4 miles short of reaching 125,000 lifetime miles. Big gal is growing up.

Tried to take it up to some waterfalls I heard about, but was run out of canyon by an angry rancher in a new Raptor. Still got a few nice pics. Some of the road was 3” deep powdered dirt. Brought it home and washed it for Moab tomorrow.

Long road trip to visit family (CO, UT, ID, OR, WA and back again). While there did a quick 4 day trip around Lewis River OR and Olympic Peninsula WA. Pretty empty everywhere during the week. Rained the entire time. Don't mind. Expect that in the PNW.

Camping Lewis River (we were the only people there over two days)

Checked one thing off the bucket list today: Fins and Things in Moab. WAY harder than it looks on YouTube!!! Got my first trail damage, but took every alternate (Harder) route I could, knowing I had to drive home 100 miles. Front locker and aired down KO2s worked great! Would have better pics, but my 2 spotters/ photographers have a combined age of 13.

I have yet to drop pic of our beast so our Smith Mountain Lake trip provided a pretty good photo op.

It was her first boat tow test as well. Not a bad maiden voyage as my buddy loaned us his '88 Capri 215. She has a small block inboard at ~21' and ~3000lb wet. The beast did a very good job to/from.

Our '96 4Runner up the hill in the background... A great trip but as always too short.

SML was very flat, excellent for tubing for the kids, as the C.C.P. Virus and the elites have many folks way too afraid to live large.

Cheers mates,
G
