Ran the Gulches with the local club. Was on and off rain all weekend, but lots of wildflowers. While still a post apocalyptic scene you can start to see the beginnings of the forest returning. The fire was 17 years ago!

If I’m right about where he’s referencing, the gulches are Metberry, Hacketts, and Slaughterhouse. Located off of FR320 (I think) near Westcreek. So in the South Platte drainage, like Rampart, but much closer to the S. Platte River.

Relative to Texas they are close to Rampart...

I assume you know where Woodland Park is. You travel WNWish from there and then north into the Hayman fire burn area. They are near Cheeseman lake.

Those are some pretty cool roads out there! SR108 EB is also a nice route towards Mono County. I've had my share of building some roads out that way! Are you on the 395 North heading toward Reno and Eastbound now? Good Luck, Safe Travels!

You build roads? That’s awesome! Yes I took tioga to Lee Vining then hopped on 395N, I then took a scenic route and hopped on 89 west to find a camp spot
