the missing oil sensor 'shock horror discovery'

Hello guys,
Been wondering why the oil pressure needle in gauge on the hzj 75 1993 T/T goes from below bottom of the gauge to top of gauge then when i turn the ignition on, then when i start the motor it resumes it's initial position and falls back below the bottom of the gauge again.
MMMMMMM been trying to find the oil sensor to check it's condition and had this discovery----looks like it has snapped off.

Question is why is there no oil leaking out and secondly i wouldn't mind an oil pressure gauge.

Any ideas as to how i can get the remnants of the sensor out as it looks like a few threads in there, think i'd like a proper gauge so prolly will like to put another on the dash too.

try an easy out to remove remnants and then thread a new one in. My oil pressure gauge doesn't do exactly what yours does but I don't trust it either. I've never owned a Land cruiser with a good factory oil pressure gauge from an old 40 to a newer 77.
